Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active cannabinoid found in cannabis and industrial hemp. CBD is non-psychoactive - meaning it won't get you high or stoned like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) another active cannabinoid of the cannabis plant that is psychoactive. In fact, CBD counters the psychoactive effects of THC. The amount of CBD can vary significantly from strain to strain. However, some strains can have very high levels of CBD with very low levels of THC. These strains will not get you high. Apparently, it was scientists in Israel who first bred the high CBD, low THC strains in an effort to produce a non-psychoactive strain that would still be a good medicine.
